The Photo Studio

Decorative Underline

The photo-studio backdrop used in the portraits of the characters in Grand Theft Terra Firma is a recreation of a backdrop used by early Chilliwack photographer James Orville Booen in the 1890s. This particular backdrop, with its fancy garden and house, recurs in many of Booen’s photographs. The backdrop was generously recreated for the exhibition by local artists and archivists Shannon Bettles Reimer and Brenda Paterson.
