Governor’s Desk
This is how the artists imagined the desk of the highest official in the Colonial Department back in London—the mastermind of the heist. It is littered with artifacts from Britain’s far-flung colonies. A despatch (the spelling of the time) from the Governor in BC lies on the desk and the British Secretary of State is in the middle of writing a reply. The text of the letters borrows liberally from the writings of key figures of the time including Secretary of State Sir Edward Bulwer Lytton and Governor James Douglas.
